The Smart NID Helper extension does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data with any external servers. All data extracted from your National ID (NID) or manually entered in the companion web application is stored strictly locally on your device using Chrome's local storage mechanism.
The data stored locally is used exclusively for the purpose of automatically filling the official DoNIDCR enrollment form. The extension only injects this data into the webpage when you explicitly click the "Auto-Fill Form" button on the official government portal.
You maintain full control over your data. You can delete saved profiles directly from the extension's popup interface at any time. Uninstalling the extension from your browser will also immediately clear all locally saved data.
The extension interacts with the official DoNIDCR portal (enrollment.donidcr.gov.np) solely for the purpose of form automation. The extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Government of Nepal. Please refer to the official government portal for their own privacy practices regarding the data you submit to them.
If you use the companion web application to extract text from images, the images are sent directly to the official Google Gemini API for processing. The images are processed ephemerally and are not permanently stored or logged by our servers.
